San Antonio Spurs fans were treated to the release of the Nike City Edition jerseys on Monday morning, but will have to wait longer to purchase the matching white shorts.
Fans rushed to the fan shop when the jerseys were released, with Joshua Primo, Devin Vassell and Dejounte Murray being the first to temporarily sell out before being restocked. While many got a hold of the new gear, fans also noticed the lack of the coveted white shorts for sale.
“The shorts are hands down the best in the league,” Air Alamo’s Kyle Forson wrote in his column reviewing the new line.
Sadly, fans may have to wait at least a few more weeks to get their hands on the shorts.
“They said they couldn’t get them due to a ‘supply chain,’ said a Spurs fan after asking the official Spurs fan shop at the AT&T Center.
As of yet, there are no shorts listed in the Spurs City Edition section of the Spurs fan shop, but the Fanatics.com store has a black version of the new edition shorts available in youth sizes.
It’s not clear why there is such a long delay between the release of the jerseys and shorts, but hopefully production can clear up a bit sooner. It would be wise for such a popular product to be available before the holiday season.
Until then, Spurs fans will just have to wait to see the Spurs short ‘Fiesta Nights, the next coming against the Boston Celtics on November 26.
Despite the shortage of shorts, the complete City Edition collection is definitely worth a look, as you can find new editions of everything from magnets and flags to sweaters and caps sporting the design in fresh colors.
